Appositive Quiz Grades!

Your Appositive Quizzes have been graded!  Use the instructions below to log in to Quia to see your score!

Do not forget that you can look over your test at any time!  All you have to do is go to Quia. 

1.  Enter in your log-in information. 
2.  Once you do that, it will show you a list of EVERYTHING that you have taken for this class (quizzes, tests, pre-tests, and games). 
3.  You can click on the small icon to the LEFT of the activity name (that looks like a little bar graph).  This will let you see YOUR answers, as well as the correct answer.

Chapter 19
1.  Why do you think Alicia is so sensitive?
2.  "I'm the Greek warrior again."  Is that a simile or a metaphor?

Chapter 20
1.  Why do you think Alicia's mom is following her?
2.  Why do you think the third cabbie makes an exception for Alicia?
3.  Try and describe a room without using anything visual.  Make sure to include the name of the room you are in.

Extra Credit Opportunity!

For up to TEN extra credit points on your Appositive Quiz, complete the following assignment:

Write ten sentences that contain appositives or appositive phrases.

Your ten sentences can be about ANY topic, as long as it is school appropriate. 

You MAY NOT use the sentences that we have worked on in class.

In order to receive the extra credit points, you MUST complete this extra credit opportunity by 7pm on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3rd.

Things Not Seen Quiz #2

You will have your second Things Not Seen Quiz on Friday, November 12th.  In order to prepare for this quiz, you should familiarize yourself with the book, including the discussion questions we have covered in class.  You should also learn your vocabulary from Chapters Five through Fourteen.

Adjective Review!

Your Adjective Test will be NEXT WEEK!  In order to prepare, make sure that you are studying your notes.  Another way to prepare is to play the games from the blog or the PortaPortal site.  There are a BUNCH of games that you can play.  Remember, those students who have the most time in Quia receive extra smile tickets!

To play the Quia games, scroll down on the blog and find the post that is called "Adjective Quiz Friday!"  That has the links to a bunch of Quia games as the bottom. 

To play the other games, click on the link on the right side of the page that says "Ms. Schleicher's PortaPortal".  After you click that, you'll type in "kmschleicher" under the part where it says "Guest Access".
